Mobile Housing Authority

In addition to providing public housing to those who qualify, there is a housing counseling program and help with financial planning. There is also a daycare and after-school care for children. Cost varies by ability to pay, but is discounted for people in public housing.

Mobile Infirmary

Infirmary Health’s flagship hospital, Mobile Infirmary, was founded in 1910. With 667 licensed beds, including J.L. Bedsole / Rotary Rehabilitation Hospital, it is among the leading hospitals in the state for surgical volume, houses a comprehensive cardiovascular program with a hybrid OR/Cath lab, the region's only long-term acute care hospital and a freestanding emergency department in Saraland. Mobile Parks and Recs Community Centers

The City of Mobile has fifteen community centers: nine large centers with multiple rooms and gymnasiums and six small centers located in neighborhood parks. Our center staff and partners provide daily classes and activities, as well as, seasonal sports leagues. Most of our centers can be rented or reserved for private events. Mobile Parks and Recs Senior Centers

Our community includes 55+seasoned community members who are active, engaged, and independent and lifelong learners. Programs include social and recreational activities, health and fitness classes, educational and enrichment programs, technology assistance, retirement planning, and volunteer activities. We currently have three Senior Centers that we manage and program: Connie Hudson Senior Center, Parkway Senior Center, and Tricksey Senior Center.

We offer confidential help for Veterans, service members, and their families at no cost in a non-medical setting.

Our services include

Mobility Assistance Program

Mobility Assistance program (MAP) is a specialized, curb to curb transportation service for certified disabled people. 

The cost is $2.50 one way.  

Applications can be acquired from our GM&O location. Applicants must pass an in-person assessment and re-certify every three years.
