From 1977 to 1981, Steve Allen produced "Meeting of Minds," an award-winning talk show on which actors portrayed historical figures like Socrates and Marie Antoinette and discussed key issues such as racism and women's rights. The series aired six hour-long episodes per season and won an Emmy for Outstanding Informational Series in 1981.
Join us in Bernheim Hall at the Ben May Main Library for the Public Works Project, which presents Meeting of Minds From the award-winning television show by Steve Allen. Public Works Projects is excited to present a reading of Allen's Episodes 9 & 10 scripts, featuring a lively discussion and debate between French Enlightenment writer Voltaire, religious reformer Martin Luther, the Greek philosopher Plato, and social reformer/founder of modern nursing Florence Nightingale.
